Urban Design Master Plan
A SMALL TOWN'S MAJOR STREETS WERE REDESIGNED to provide wider sidewalks, trees, benches, more crosswalks, bicycle lanes, and on-street parking. The streets wind with narrow drive lanes to control automobile speeds and maximize available frontage for the retail stores and restaurants. Businesses spill out into the street creating pedestrian destinations with unique character: parks, waterfront promenades and plazas. This pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use plan reflects the community's continued efforts to strengthen the vitality and livability of its downtown. Location: Bainbridge Island, WA.
